Pamela Gonzales is a Peru born/New York based, multi-disciplinary designer, artist, philosopher and entrepreneur.
Her former experience as a ballet dancer developed her sensitivity and inspired her to tell stories through aesthetics, utilizing different mediums to fuse structure, visual illusions, freedom and flow.
Fascinated by the complexity of human beings: spirituality, consciousness, perception and the relativity of subjectivity in itself, Pamela graduated from NYU, Gallatin School, where she studied Metaphysics, Psychoanalysis and Visual Arts and concentrated on “The Construction and Reconstruction of the Self: Western Post-Secularism and the Intrinsic Void of Being”.
Fashion: As a natural leap-of-faith-taker, Pamela made her international debut in New York Fashion Week at age 19 and built upon this event by opening stores in both Soho, New York and Lima, Peru. Her designs are characterized by detailed handwork, rich textures, knits and organic fibers; by adding couture-applications to her ready-to-wear collections, her styles are eclectic, edgy and unique. As she considers fashion to be an extension of one’s consciousness, she is committed to creating wearable experiences. Pamela has been featured in Vogue Latin America, WWD, The New York Times, NBC and Telemundo.
You can currently find her collections in her Showroom at The Assemblage, New York, where she also manages the Artist in Residency Program and participates in the co-creation of an “unimagined-imagined” reality along with like-minded creatives and changemakers.
